Psychology Technician

Birmingham City University - School of Psychology

Location: City Centre Campus (Curzon Building)

For this Psychology Technician post (Senior Officer Support) we are looking for candidates who possess appropriate ICT qualifications. The appointee will provide technical support and advice to staff and students within the Department of Psychology, specifically in the provision of resources to aid delivery of various Psychology BSc, MSc courses and Doctorate training. The post is located within the Department of Psychology, one of the two departments within the School of Social Sciences. The person appointed will have a significant contribution in providing IT support and development for the Department of Psychology, involving both staff and student needs. You will be expected to have a good working understanding of VLEs and software (including most mainstream Microsoft products and operating systems, as well as specific statistics packages and experimental software used in the Department of Psychology). The ability to offer PC support and equipment maintenance is also essential. You will also be required to help manage the laboratories and equipment, test library and portable resources which can be loaned to staff and students. Good written and communication skills are vital.
