The School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences is seeking to appoint a lecturer in Clinical Psychology (equivalent to Assistant Professor) to further strengthen the Department’s academic profile and to support teaching on our current clinically orientated undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out internationally excellent research, high quality teaching and administrative duties as required.
Applications are welcome from all areas of specialism within clinical psychology, although some experience with cognitive behavioural therapy and/or mental health will be an advantage. The School has excellent research links with local adult and child and adolescent mental health services and is home to the recently established Thames Valley Clinical Trials Unit. Applicants should be developing a reputation in their field, have good recent publications and ambitions to build a research group. They should also be able to contribute to the highly collaborative, inter-disciplinary and collegiate research environment at Reading.
Evidence of writing and gaining external grant awards is an advantage. Start-up costs and dedicated access to facilities such as the MRI scanner are by negotiation.
You will have:
- A doctorate in Psychology or a closely related area.
- The ability to undertake original research and some teaching experience.
- The ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in at least one core area of psychology.
- A good recent publication track record.
- A commitment to excellence in teaching and research at all levels.
- An ability to work well with students and colleagues, and be respectful and considerate of the skills of others.
