Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Deputy Director of Estates (Projects) will lead a team of internal and external Project Managers in the delivery of small, medium and large scale capital projects across a mixed-use estate portfolio of research and teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, sports facilities and commercial space. You will head a capital programme currently estimated at £170m with several individual major schemes in the £20m to £75m range.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading large scale development schemes and programmes of projects including both refurbishment and new build schemes across technically complex estate portfolios. You will have proven team leadership experience, with the capability to lead internal staff members as well as external project teams. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate successfully at a senior level with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
Experience of working in or with the higher education sector is advantageous although not essential. It is expected that candidates will possess a related professional qualification.
