The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney is consistently ranked in the top 50 engineering and technology universities in the world. We are currently seeking to appoint an accomplished academic who has an outstanding international reputation and publication record. Thanks to an exciting collaboration with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation and The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, the Ainsworth Chair of Technology and Innovation has been created.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a high-performing academic to lead research in disruptive technology breakthroughs so as to reset the future health and wellbeing of many thousands of children and adults with disabilities. As the chair, you will be an experienced technologist with extensive knowledge and networks. You will be a future-focused innovator with great drive, an ability to bring people together and to ‘make things happen’.
You will be a member of one of the five schools which closely matches your area of expertise and will collaborate with the Brain & Mind Centre, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation and The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network to determine key priority areas of focus.
You will be required to bring together experts in their field to find new solutions in global collaboration to reduce duplication, use resources cost effectively, and accelerate the search for innovative solutions to the challenges faced by people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
Term and remuneration
The appointment is on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 5 years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees, and a competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
