The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London invites applications from scholars of international distinction for a Professorial appointment in any of the following fields: applied micro, finance, international economics and macroeconomics.
Queen Mary University of London is one of the world’s leading universities (in the top one per cent of universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education). We have an impressive reputation for academic excellence, reinforced by our membership of the Russell Group of leading UK universities, which helps us to attract some of the brightest minds to study, teach and research here. We work across the humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineering. We are based in a creative and culturally diverse area of east London and are the only London University able to offer a completely integrated residential campus at our Mile End home.
The School is highly regarded as one of the top economics and finance departments in the UK. The School has 40 full time academic staff. Over 500 undergraduate students and 750 postgraduate students, many coming from outside the UK adding to the international dimension and interests of the School. The School and University is however also strongly rooted in its local environ undertaking research, teaching and outreach activities within 2 mile radius of the campus.
The successful candidate’s research and leadership will further develop the School and your chosen research area. You will have a clear international profile and reputation for excellence and an outstanding record of publications that have demonstrable impact in the field are also required.
You will be expected to contribute significantly to the development of the Schools’ research strategies, to be active in attracting research funding, and to play a full role in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. A proven ability to provide wider School leadership is also essential.
The post is indefinite. The successful candidate must be able to take up his or her appointment by early September 2017. Salary will be by negotiation within the Professorial salary range and the overall remuneration package will be competitive.
