Research and Development Engineer - Elastomeric Materials and Isolator Characterisation (KTP Associate)

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious post-doctoral graduate with the ability and confidence to deliver a collaborative project with The University of Manchester and Farrat Isolevel Limited.

Working with industry and academic experts you will help Farrat Isolevel Limited, a global leader in vibration control, to develop and apply engineering methodologies based on analytical, numerical and experimental characterisation of elastometic rubber materials to be used for vibration isolation. 

You will require a minimum of a good BEng Degree (or equivalent experience) and a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering. Engineering design skills will be essential and you should be able to use computer aided engineering packages to produce 2D and 3D drawings of assemblies and components. Experience in quasi-static and dynamic testing of materials will be required and candidates should possess strong capabilities in mathematical modelling and finite element analysis.

You will benefit from a £5.5k training and development allowance, 10% of your time allocated to personal and professional development, enrolment onto a management training programme and the opportunity to obtain a Chartered Management Institute management qualification.

Based at Farrat Isolevel Limited in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, you will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Farrat Isolevel Limited and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
