Professor of Mechanical Engineering

University of Sussex - Department of Engineering and Design - School of Engineering and Informatics

The University of Sussex wishes to appoint a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and future Head of Department. This appointment is part of a programme of continuing investment in the Department of Engineering and Design. In addition to this post six further academic are being advertised.

The successful candidate will join the Thermo-fluid Mechanics Research Centre and ideally have research interests in multiscale modelling related to high Reynolds number turbulent subsonic and supersonic/hypersonic flows, and have an international reputation for excellence in research.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the area of mechanical engineering.

Applications should be accompanied by a full CV, and statements of future research plans and ways in which the applicant could contribute to teaching across the School.
