Applications are invited for a Public Engagement and Patient Involvement (PPI) Coordinator.
The Asthma UK Centre in Mechanisms of Asthma Centre is a partnership between Asthma UK, the Medical Research Council (MRC), Imperial College London and King's College London.
This post offers the opportunity to provide both development and management of the patient and public involvement programme for the Asthma UK Centre in Mechanisms of Asthma. You will help to develop the public and patient involvement strategy and lead the implementation of the strategy. This includes the development and monitoring of standards for PPI in the Centre portfolio, facilitating research into the effect of different types of PPI on the research process and experience of participants, monitoring the impact of a patient assent system on recruitment to clinical trials, supporting relevant training in PPI for researchers, patients and the public. You will work on developing the involvement of patients and the public in research within the Centre and raising its profile and understanding. You will also develop external and internal communication to promote and support patient and public involvement. You will have a key role in ensuring the delivery of the Centre's timelines and milestones.
You should have a degree or equivalent qualifications or experience, and significant experience working in an administrative capacity, preferably in a scientific setting.
The post is part-time and fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance. The post is primarily based at St Mary’s campus with travel to other sites such as King’s College London and Guy’s Hospital as required.
