The Department of Electronics at the University of York undertakes world-leading research in a number of areas of electronic and computer engineering. The most recent Research Excellence Framework rated 87% of our research World Leading or Internationally Excellent.
We are pleased to announce that the Department has four fully funded PhD studentships starting in the 2017/18 academic year. These studentships will cover the tuition fee at the UK/EU rate (£4,228 in 2017/18) and a stipend at the standard research council rate for a period of 3 years (£14,296 in 2016/17). International (non-EU) candidates are also welcome to apply but will be required to pay the difference between the UK/EU and international tuition fee rates.
These studentships are available in any research area in the Department of Electronics (suggested PhD projects can be found on our website via the link below). You are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate member of staff for each project, in the first instance, who will be able to advise you on your application.
Candidates must have (or expect to obtain) a minimum of a UK upper second class honours degree (2.1) or equivalent in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Music Technology or a related subject.
