Head of Individual Giving

National Army Museum

The National Army Museum (NAM) holds the premier collection of material relating to the British Army and tells the story of the British Army at home and abroad from earliest times to the present day. The Museum has been successful in securing phase 2 Heritage Lottery Fund support for our Building for the Future project (capital campaign), which includes a major re-development of the Chelsea site involving the complete re-presentation of the Museum displays, facilities, and learning spaces, including dedicated public spaces for retail, café and Corporate Hire, to ensure the Museum sits at the forefront of military museums in the 21st century. Redevelopment will be completed in 2017.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new fundraising team who will build on the success of the recent capital campaign; together we will develop innovative fundraising initiatives for this fantastic new Museum in the heart of Chelsea.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Individual Giving who will be responsible for developing and leading the strategy for maximising income from individuals including major donors, patrons and members to support the NAM’s robust public programme, exhibitions, acquisitions and outreach. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the Patron Scheme and for developing and launching the new Family Membership and Legacy Schemes. Experience of membership, major gifts and legacies within individual giving in the cultural sector, and demonstrating increasing responsibility for recruiting major gifts and setting strategy is essential.

Interviews will be held on 10 January 2017.

Closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 12pm (noon) on Tuesday 3 January 2017.
