The University of Derby and BGB Innovation Limited are offering a rare opportunity to lead a strategic project to research and design their next generation of contactless/low friction slip rings. The project will transform the company's products and open up new opportunities in the UK and Overseas.
BGB is looking for an enthusiastic R&D Engineer to help deliver a project to take a new innovative product to market. This is a real opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic manufacturing business.
We are looking for a graduate with a first or upper second class degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc MPhil in a related subject e.g. Mechanical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/Electronics, to undertake a 30 month fixed term position between the University of Derby and BGB Technology Ltd.
To undertake this role you will have experience of product development and evaluation of materials, you will possess the ability to use a range of different methodologies namely: FEA, CFD Thermomechanical modelling, as well as being fully conversant with AutoCAD, ANSYS/ABAQUS. You will need to be an experienced Project Manager – and proficient using project management tools. You will also need industrial report writing skills to a high standard as well as excellent spoken English. An understanding of the Slip Ring market would be of benefit.
You will have a structured and logical approach with excellent presentation skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and categorise complex levels of data.
