BCU wishes to appoint its first Sports Development Officers to develop the sporting infrastructure to improve student performance and recreational sport. Working closely with the students union and academic staff in the newly formed Department of Sport and Exercise you will develop appropriate partnerships internally and externally to further develop the sport and physical activity offer for all students and staff across the City.
BCU has outstanding Sports Facilities at its Doug Ellis Sports Centre and Pavilions centre in the north of the City. In addition, the University is investing £41 Million in a purpose built development. The 10,500m² building at City South Campus in Edgbaston will enable the University to offer a wide range of new health, life science and sports courses. This new facility will offer additional new sports provision.
The successful applicant will possess experience of working on sports development partnerships either in a HE or local authority environment.
