Lecturer in Marketing/Digital Marketing Grade 8

University of Liverpool - University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS)

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

The University of Liverpool is one of the UK’s leading research institutions and is ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide. With an annual turnover of £465 million, including £89 million for research, Liverpool is the original ‘redbrick’ university and a member of the prestigious Russell Group, which comprises the leading research universities in the UK.

The University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) sits in the top 5% of business schools globally. Formed in 2002 with a £12 million investment and led by the Director, Professor Julia Balogun, the School is well positioned to further enhance its national and international standing, giving particular emphasis over the next period to developing world-class research activity. AACSB accredited and with its full-time MBA ranked in the Economist top 100, ULMS has 150 academic staff who enjoy a strongly collegial, research-supportive, and intellectually vibrant interdisciplinary environment. Faculty within the School operate in three subject groups (Economics, Finance and Accounting; Organisation and Management; Marketing and Operations) but adopt a distinctive, highly collaborative approach, working in interdisciplinary teams which span the School and University.

The Marketing and Operations group is now seeking to appoint two new colleagues in Marketing, at the level of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor). Marketing research at ULMS has a broad scope including services marketing, consumer research and business-to-business (B2B) marketing, as well as more recent theoretical developments such as consumer culture theory. Applications are welcomed from those with an interest in Digital Marketing, both theory and practice, alongside those with wider experience across the Marketing discipline.

You should have a relevant PhD, (or be about to obtain), and an embryonic track record of publications in world-leading or internationally excellent journals. For appointment at the Senior Lecturer (Grade 9) level, you will have an existing track record of top-level publications. In both cases, you will be able to evidence future research plans demonstrating a capacity to sustain and extend the existing high level of output.

You will also be expected to demonstrate a successful teaching track record commensurate with the appropriate level as all faculty at the Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level will teach in the undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes. The School seeks excellence in all aspects of the student experience and for individuals with a passion for innovative pedagogies and the capacity to create and deliver new and highly contemporary modules.
