Purpose and Main Duties
We are looking to recruit a multi-skilled, enthusiastic and innovative Digital Marketing Officer to help us meet Birkbeck’s ambitious student recruitment targets.

Birkbeck is a world-class research and teaching institution and London’s only specialist provider of evening higher education. This is a key supporting role in the busy Marketing and Recruitment team in External Relations.

Based in Bloomsbury, central London, the post-holder will assist the Head of Marketing and Recruitment with a strategic and integrated approach to ensure the effective co-ordination of online marketing and conversion campaigns to underpin student recruitment and marketing efforts, and will be committed to delivering outstanding results.

Candidate Requirements
You’ll have experience of working on integrated online campaigns, including social media, web content and CRM. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent copywriting skills, a good knowledge of HTML, strong IT skills including experience of setting up, tracking and reporting on activity. You will have a passion and a creative flair for all things digital including social media and digital content production.

Candidates must have proven marketing skills and the ability to build excellent working relationships across the institution and with external agencies, including senior staff. This is a support role that requires excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure and to deadline. You will be able to take initiative as well as working supportively as part of a team. Prior knowledge and experience of higher education is desirable.

Further Information

Salary: Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £32,042 rising to £36,548 per annum.

This post is full time, 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) and open-ended. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
