About the Role
You’ll join our Department of Biomedical and Forensic Sciences, based in our Faculty of Science and Technology. We’re a forward-thinking department with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. Our BSc and MSc Biomedical Science degrees are accredited by the Institute for Biomedical Science (IBMS) and our research in Biological Sciences was recognised as internationally excellent in REF2014. You’ll contribute to the delivery of courses to both undergraduate and post graduate students, and you’ll develop an internationally excellent portfolio of research.
With experience in the field of Biomedical Science, you’ll be HCPC registered and have extensive knowledge and understanding of the role of the Biomedical Scientist and Biomedical Science laboratories, the clinical setting and patient pathways as well as pathological disease processes and diagnostic and prognostic disease testing methods. You’ll have a PhD or Professional Doctorate (or nearing completion) in a related discipline, teaching experience in Higher Education and experience in professional practice. You’ll have clinical laboratory experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the clinical aspects of biomedical science.
