Buckinghamshire New University has a strong reputation for Arts & Creative Industries with a portfolio spanning design-based disciplines including Graphics, Creative Advertising, Fashion and Textiles, along with Media, Animation, Music and Performing Arts.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well connected and ambitious applicant to the role of Head of Academic Department for Art & Design. The successful candidate will provide management and strategic leadership for the development of curriculum in Art & Design related disciplines and in cross-Departmental, Faculty and University curriculum development which links to these disciplines. A significant part of the role will also include establishing a research and enterprise focus for the academic staff in this area, with good potential to be aligned to future REF submissions, and to lead on successful related funding bids as required.
More generally, they will leading on making year on year performance improvements to NSS, DHELE and HESA returns with a key focus on strategies for improving the student journey, and fostering a partnership approach to the higher education learning experience.
