Market Research Officer
Grade 7 (£31,076 - £38,183)
External Relations at the University of Dundee supports and enhances the University’s reputation by managing a range of activities in order to attract students, staff and funding for the university. Our teams include Enquirer and Applicant Communications, Global Engagement and Recruitment, Admissions and Applicant Experience, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Web and Creative Services, Events, and Alumni and Development.
We are now seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual for the new post of Market Research Officer to develop the market research and intelligence function in response to the strategic requirements of the University, identifying and addressing any gaps in provision.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about market research and is a highly skilled quantitative and qualitative researcher with the ability to turn data and transcripts into clear, actionable and engaging insight. You will have excellent communication skills, an inquisitive, autonomous approach and a strong attention to detail.
Proactive by nature, the post holder will:
  • support student recruitment activity by informing strategic market positioning decisions (e.g. fees setting, scholarship provision, programme portfolio development), through the provision of comprehensive market research, intelligence and analysis from internal and external sources;
  • co-ordinate and deliver a wide range of market research projects to optimise our understanding of the perceptions, needs and motivations of stakeholder groups (including enquirers, applicants & students);
  • maintain a high level of general market awareness in order to identify market trends and opportunities thereby supporting the development of new product offerings;
  • support new programme development by co-ordinating the market testing of new programmes to ensure the University maintains a successful programme portfolio;
  • provide specialist professional advice, guidance and training to Academic Schools and other Professional Services Directorates in support of their market research and intelligence requirements.
