The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £32,958 to £39,324 per annum, plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance.

Fixed-Term Contract until 30 September 2018

The Division of Health and Social Care Research (HSCR), wish to recruit a full time Research Associate. The post holder will have a dual role, working on a research study and providing consultancy for NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) London.

Research: The post holder will join a highly productive research group that is active in using primary care electronic health records for epidemiological research. The post holder will contribute to the conduct, analysis and reporting of the REDUCE trial. This is a cluster randomised trial aiming to reduce unnecessary use of antibiotics in primary care. The post holder will contribute to the conduct and analysis of the process evaluation for the trial, using mixed methods research with trial general practices. In addition, there will be opportunities to conduct epidemiological research along-side the trial using CPRD data.

Research design and grant preparation consultancy: The RDS provides support to research teams preparing grant applications for national peer reviewed funding schemes. The post holder will be expected to provide expert advice and guidance on the use of appropriate research methods and study designs to investigators targeting NIHR funding.

The selection process will include competency based questions, an assessment and a panel interview.
