Head of Surrey Clinical Trials Unit

Surrey Clinical Trials Unit has recently been awarded provisional registration by the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC), under the mentorship of Southampton Clinical Trials Unit. The Unit now wishes to appoint an experienced individual to lead the unit to achieve full Registration at the next call in 2017.

The principal role of the Head of the Clinical Trials Unit will be to achieve Registration and develop the Unit identity and strategy. The focus of this role is developing the portfolio of studies and to oversee the processes and outputs in place to achieve Registration.

He/She will ensure we have the necessary operating systems, management arrangements and external relationships in order to develop a focused portfolio of trials and for managing the relationships with Chief / Principal Investigators and various funding organisations and NHS clients.

He/She will need to work closely with the CTU Medical Director and CTU Steering Committee. The CTU is part of the new Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (DCEM) and the new Head should share its ambitions to increase the research capability and capacity at Surrey.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Prof Simon de Lusignan (Head of Dept s.lusignan@surrey.ac.uk or 01483 684802 or Dr Agnieszka Michael Medical Director of the CTU as a.michael@surrey.ac.uk)
