The Research Centre for Evolutionary Anthropology and Palaeoecology seek a highly effective Research Support Assistant to provide support for the exciting and high profile DigiArt European Horizon2020 project, ‘The Internet of Historical Things and Building New 3D Cultural Worlds’.
Duties will be centred on the creation of online content and will focus on the project website and the content acquisition for the virtual Anthropology museum being created as part of the project. These consist of using photogrammetry for the creation of virtual 3D models, collating text and figures for the website and virtual museum, and providing general support to the project team.
A positive approach with excellent interpersonal/communication skills along with outstanding English, good organisational abilities and attention to detail are essential requirements for the post. You should be capable of prioritising your workload and working to agreed deadlines as required to meet project deliverables and milestones. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in 3D modelling and/or Wordpress website authoring. Training will be provided for the 3D modelling techniques and preparation of the materials for online viewing but candidates must possess ability to master advanced computing software easily. The role provides a unique opportunity to work with an existing, experienced, driven and hardworking research group within the Research Centre for Evolutionary Anthropology and Palaeoecology.
You should be qualified to HND level or hold an equivalent qualification. Candidates who lack formal qualifications but can offer significant relevant experience may also be considered. Previous experience of working in the museum or natural history sector is beneficial but not required.
