Income Assistant - Fees

37 hours per week, 1.0 FTE

Due to an internal promotion within the team an exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen within the Finance and Planning Department at the University of Gloucestershire for an experienced and customer focused Income Assistant – Fees with strong financial administration skills to add value in a rapidly evolving environment.

The post is located within the University’s Income Team which is responsible for the accurate processing of financial transactions and the maintenance of records for sales ledger and credit control. 

You will be a key member of the team supporting the Income Administrators, taking responsibility for responding to queries from current or prospective students, sponsors or parents regarding fee rates and payment options to facilitate student enrolment.

You will assist with the timely and accurate production and despatch of sales invoices and credit notes in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures, and working with the team to deliver a high quality service and achieve success.

You will assist with the administration of the on-line payment facility and ensure cash or other receipts are recorded correctly onto the sales ledger.

You will be proactive in delivering a high quality service with a commitment to continuous improvement and enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential as you will need to liaise with the Student Loan Company and other sponsors regarding the payment and collection of fees

Experience of account reconciliations, handling cash and receipts would be desirable as it is a requirement to ensure the amounts are allocated to the relevant accounts in a timely manner and to provide information for decision making. A flexible and committed attitude to delivering accurate sales ledger services will also enable you to contribute to the success of the team.

Good IT skills are essential and you must have excellent organisational skills, be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
