NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, with a regional network and headquarters in Cambridge.
A new post has arisen for a motivated and experienced IT Support Engineer (HPC) with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Based in Cambridge, the post holder will work in a team responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the high performance computing (HPC) platform at NIAB and NIAB EMR in Kent, as well as the monitoring and maintenance of the core Windows-based systems. The post holder will be expected to engage with HPC users to support the configuration and deployment of hardware and scientific software.
Applicants are expected to have a proven track record in a role as an HPC support engineer for a large organisation in the life-science sector. In addition, applicants should have a working knowledge and in-depth experience of Unix/Linux systems administration and Windows systems, and hold system administrator certifications.
