Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Researcher in noncommutative ring theory and associated areas in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. The post is available from 01 March 2017, or a mutually agreed date, for an 18 months fixed term contract.
The position is funded from the EPSRC grant "Moduli Techniques in Graded Ring Theory" of Dr. Susan Sierra. The research topic will focus on new approaches to graded ring theory through moduli techniques, particularly investigating enveloping algebras of infinite-dimensional graded Lie algebras. Although this position is funded from the above grant, for which there is already an outline project, the appointee will also be encouraged to pursue his/her own and newly arising research directions.
The appointee will join a thriving algebra and geometry group in Edinburgh, and will become a member of the Hodge Institute.
Please enclose with your application your CV, a research statement, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date for receipt of applications, including letters of reference, is 13 January 2017.
Informal enquiries are encouraged; please contact Susan Sierra by email: email@example.com.
The University of Edinburgh promotes equality and diversity, holds a Bronze Athena SWAN award and supports the LMS Good Practice Scheme. We strive for a family-friendly School of Mathematics.
Closing Date: 13 January 2017 at 5pm GMT
