We are seeking an enthusiastic team worker to join the School Management and Research Office (SMRO) which is responsible for providing administrative management and support across a broad range of areas within the School of Humanities. The School is large, complex and operates over multiple sites.
SMRO areas of responsibility include: Buildings, Events, Facilities, Finance, Health & Safety, HR, Marketing and Research. This remit is managed across three teams: School Operations, Marketing and Events, and Research and Funding.
This post exists within the School Operations Team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support across seven academic departments within the School and will work collaboratively with other team members and key academic and administrative staff in the School and wider university.
Candidates must have a good standard of education evidenced by A level qualifications or equivalent, GCSEs in Mathematics and English at Level C or above, along with experience of working in an office/administrative environment.
Experience of dealing with all aspects of HR issues including recruitment, together with excellent communication and organisational skills is essential. Experience of financial systems and working with budgets, successfully working within a team, as well as the ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to strict deadlines is also essential. The role holder must also have some knowledge of health and safety and buildings and facilities issues within a large organisation.
This is a fixed, for 12months, full-time post for 36.25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. The post is available from February 2017.
