UK National Quantum Technologies Programme: Quantum Communications Hub
A Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position in the area of quantum communications technologies is available in the EPSRC Quantum Communications Hub, led by the University of York. You will undertake and support research and development for fibre optic quantum communication networks, both inter-city and access across specific sites. You will be part of a team responsible for the installation, provisioning and testing of these networks, together with the higher level security services provided by them.
The work is collaborative, and will be undertaken with a number of Hub partners, including the Universities of Cambridge and York, as well as the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). You will work particularly closely with BT, and much of your time will be spent with Professor Andrew Lord and his team at BT, both in the company’s R&D labs at Adastral Park, and on sites connected by a new network being built between Adastral Park and Cambridge by the Quantum Communications Hub. You will need to be based locally, with convenient and frequent access to both Adastral Park in Martlesham Heath, near Ipswich, and Cambridge (the University and Science Parks).

Salary will be within the range £31,076 to £38,183 a year.
