Salary: £17,399 to £20,624 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Applications are invited for the above post based at The University of Nottingham. The post-holder will provide technical support for research which is seeking to characterise a genetically-diverse range of wheat plants under a variety of environmental conditions. The post-holder will be responsible for the growth, maintenance and monitoring of plants in field and growth room experiments, routine crop/plant physiological analyses (notably spectral radiometry of photosynthesis, biomass and plant N content). The post-holder will also provide assistance with other tasks such as plant analysis (e.g. sample drying and milling), general laboratory maintenance and local fieldwork tasks where required. Full training for all activities will be provided.
Candidates should have a minimum of two A-Levels in relevant science subjects, or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ City & Guild) plus some relevant technical/scientific experience or considerable work experience in a relevant technical or scientific role.
This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years from January 2017.
