The General Manager for Begbroke Science Park plays a critical role in delivery of the vision for the Begbroke site. The role encompasses responsibility for the operation of the site, but importantly is a key contributor supporting the MPLS Division and the University in the strategic development of the Science Park. There are exciting possibilities for the long-term development of the Park and we require an individual with energy and enthusiasm to join us in this effort.
You will participate in the strategic management and direction of the Park. You will carry out a full range of professional managerial duties (financial control, marketing, personnel, buildings’ and infrastructure management). Continuing on the success already achieved, your role will be to attract the right businesses and further embed the collaborative ethos of the science and technology community on site. You will develop and implement plans for managing and operating further new business functions, in light of agreed strategic plans, and manage productive relationships with professional and academic leaders from across a complex and highly devolved University.
Exceptional interpersonal, presentational and communication skills, together with the ability to command the confidence of senior figures in industry, academia and government departments are essential for this position. You will bring a blend of commercial acumen and senior private sector experience combined with scientific understanding to the role. It will be essential that you have experience of building and managing commercial property whilst also having a real enthusiasm for supporting leading-edge academic research and its connection with industry.
