The English Department seeks to make a 0.5 FTE professorial appointment in Creative Writing. The post-holder will undertake the normal teaching, research and administrative duties expected of a senior member of the Department. In all areas they will be expected to show leadership appropriate to their position.
The successful candidate will have a strong background of achievement in teaching Creative Writing as well as an excellent publication record. The ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise, and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level, is essential. The post is 17.5 hours per week, starting from 1 September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The starting salary will be negotiable. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
