Resident Manager (University Hall)

The University is looking for a Resident Manager for University Hall. This Hall of Residence encompasses the Towers building of 442 beds and the Apartments of 106 beds, for a total of 548 first year student beds, fully catered.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will have responsibility for the operations of this Hall of Residence. We are seeking a capable manager who can lead the development of a community that is safe, comfortable, supportive, conducive to academic success, and responsive to the needs of students in residence, many of whom are living away from home for the first time.

You will role model appropriate sociability for your accommodation community as well as high levels of customer service for staff in your Hall. You will live onsite in the Hall and be prepared to respond to critical incidents when required. After hours/weekend on-call is area wide and shared with all professional staff in your area. You will be warm and open in your personal style but with a level of personal integrity that allows you to maintain consistent and respectful standards of behaviour within a community tolerant of diverse perspectives and needs.

As a pragmatic operational manager you will be able to deliver a high quality residential service to academic year residents and summer conference guests. As a person with great empathy you will be attuned and responsive to the needs of the residents in your care. Experience working within a similar environment is desirable and staff management is essential. Candidates will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and as responsibility for the residents’/guest health and safety will be a large component of this role.

This role is a live-in role, and accommodation in a one bedroom apartment is provided within University Hall - Towers as part of the remuneration package for the successful candidate.
