The Equality and Diversity Unit supports the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality, values diversity and maintains a working, learning and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all its staff and students are respected.

The Head of Equality and Diversity is a member of the HR Senior Management Team, works directly with the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Equality and Diversity) and manages a team of specialised advisors providing guidance and advice to all parts of the University in relation to all aspects of equality and diversity.

Based in central Oxford, the role holder will be responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance to a range of other stakeholders on equality and diversity matters including Pro-Vice Chancellors, the Education Management Group and other senior colleagues across the collegiate University.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the field of equality and diversity, possess management and leadership experience and be able to operate effectively in an environment subject to intense press scrutiny and comment. An ability to interpret complex data, communicate effectively at all levels and lead on change through influencing and networking are all key elements of this role.
