The Department of Social Policy and Intervention is seeking a motivated individual to join its busy administrative team. Over the last 3 years, the Department has been developing its communications and alumni relations activity, and the postholder will contribute to the continuing development of these areas. You will be responsible for ensuring that key communications activity is undertaken on an ongoing basis (e.g. maintaining the website and social media, and producing weekly and termly bulletins) and for maintaining alumni relations and organising alumni events such as our participation in the University’s alumni weekend, Meeting Minds.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 July 2017 to provide maternity cover for the substantive postholder. The post is available immediately. You will report to the Head of Administration. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a similar role. You will be familiar with a range of communication channels including websites, social media and printed publications, and knowledge of the challenges and opportunities posed by each; excellent written English, with the ability to write indifferent styles to suit different audiences; strong IT skills and familiarity with a range of software, including website software and desktop publishing software.
