At Bath Spa University we work with one clear vision: to be a leading university in creativity, culture and enterprise. And as the fifth largest employer in Bath and North East Somerset, we’re really bringing our local talent out on a global scale. And with ever growing student numbers, it’s important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. Transforming the lives of our socially engaged global students starts with making sure that our people, people like you, are engaged, empowered and feel valued for the hard work they do. And that’s where you come in.
About the role
The TV Studios at Newton Park were only recently completed and represent a snapshot of the existing broadcast technologies available today. We’re looking for another member of the already highly skilled technical team that is capable of teaching elements of a multi camera TV studio production. The main responsibilities of the role will be working with academic staff to deliver technical demonstrations based around the equipment in Bath Spa University’s TV Studio. You will be working with industry standard broadcast equipment and be encouraged to design and deliver inspiring and educational demonstrations for a variety of learning styles and abilities. The combination of deep technical knowledge and innovation and inspiring demonstrations are at the very heart of this role.
This is a part-time role at 0.6FTE (pro rata salary £15,631 - £18,645) for a fixed term of 12 months (maternity cover).
About you (requirements)
We’re looking for applicants who are passionate about technology and have experience within a broadcast, theatrical or events context. We would expect the applicant to have an active role in not only the planning and delivery of the courses but also be instrumental in decisions over equipment purchases as well as the correct maintenance and servicing of the universities equipment. Being able to convert their knowledge into inspiring teaching sessions for a mixed ability of students will be a vital part of their role.
