Head of Degree Apprenticeships and Workforce Development (Business Development)

FTE: 1FTE – Full time position working 37 hours per week.

The University has a long-established track record of working with businesses and public sector bodies in developing their core staff skills and is now looking to significantly increase that activity through our Degree Apprenticeships and Workforce Development (WFD)/Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offers.

Your key role will be to strategically lead on the University’s approach to the employment of levy-funded and Skills Funding Agency funded degree apprenticeships, proactively identify and drive up opportunities for sales of our Degree Apprenticeships, WFD and CPD (non-credit bearing short courses) offers from across the University, in order to meet the University’s challenging targets for increasing sales to businesses and the public sector.

You will require: a good Honours Degree and/or equivalent professional qualifications or experience and preferably a postgraduate degree or professional qualifications; experience of Skills Funding Agency funding; a proven track record of sales, client management, negotiation, costing & pricing, securing external income and partnership development; high level skills in and sound understanding of business management, business development or Higher Education Institution to business interface; experience of consultative sales, assessing and understanding client needs in relation to Higher Education services;  experience of working with middle and senior managers in the public and private sectors; account management and development of long lasting business relationships experience; an understanding of the degree apprenticeship environment; a demonstrable track record of Continuing Professional Development and Workforce Development solutions sales.
