The Directorate of Marketing and External Relations is responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with the University’s external environment and stakeholders. The Directorate is the brand guardian with a remit that covers student recruitment and admissions (both home and international), corporate and academic school specific marketing, corporate events and alumni & development. This is a newly created Directorate that is responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity, increased profile and greater engagement with our friends to support that ambition both in kind and through philanthropic support.

The Raiser’s Edge database, which holds in excess of 150,000 records of alumni and other key contacts, is critical to the success of the office. The successful candidate will need to be able to facilitate the effectiveness of the Alumni Engagement and Development team and the University in its externally facing activities by developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the database to ensure that it is fit for purpose.

This post manages the Development Services team, including posts and activities concerned with systems; information management and database enhancement, development and manipulation; data mining; prospect and donor profiling; gift administration; tax claims; gift and donor records and recording and when appropriate office finance, reporting, budgeting and projections. Alongside operations, the post holder will focus on prospect research and management and the building of a significant pool of potential donors.

This role will report directly to the Head of Alumni Engagement and Development whilst providing support across the whole range of activities of the office.
