The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,056 - £41,163 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Applications are invited for an experienced laboratory manager for laboratories within the Institute’s Developmental Biology & Cancer Academic Programme. The post is part of a team providing infrastructure support for laboratory work and health and safety across the Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. The Laboratory Management team also provides an interface between academics and administration both at Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and in wider UCL to minimise the time spent by academic staff on non-research related activities.

Applicants must have a first degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject e.g. biomedical science. The postholder must have experience of managing laboratory research facilities, of promoting improvement of these facilities and of financial management. The ability to liaise with staff at a range of levels internal and external to the organisation is essential. The postholder must have knowledge of the legislation governing health and safety in both laboratory and office environments.
