The School of Health, Sport and Bioscience has experienced considerable growth over the last 5 years, approximately 10-15% per annum. We are rapidly developing our post graduate and research programmes, involving wide collaboration in the UK and overseas.
We are seeking to appoint a Technical Services Manager to contribute to the continued growth and success of the School. You will join a dynamic team of technical, academic and research staff working to support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, consultancy and income generation activities. Working under the leadership of the Head of Technical Resources, you will ensure provision of the highest quality, multi-specialist technical expertise and support. You will be responsible for the provision of technical support and management of a team of technical staff ensuring effective and efficient operation of the facilities and equipment. You will have a good honours degree in a bioscience or biomedical subject, ideally with an appropriate postgraduate scientific, be conversant with health and safety practices, have up to date knowledge and practical experience of a range of laboratory techniques and equipment. Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential, as well as a commitment to customer service excellence in support of staff and students. A good team player, willing to work flexibly to changing timetables and work patterns, you will have a drive for excellence in everything that you do.
