We are seeking a Course Leader / Principal Lecturer to lead the BA (hons) Graphic Design Course. Within this role you will be responsible for the academic management and curricula development and will be required to teach and supervise on both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Graphic Design courses. You will also be required to contribute to the continual development of the Department of Visual Communication and serve on Schoolwide committees as assigned by the Head of Department. Responsibilities will include managing and developing the academic team, day to day management and overseeing teaching, learning and assessment; and ensuring that student satisfaction remains high.
You will contribute to and the research and practice of Graphic Design and demonstrate a proven record of research outcomes and scholarly activity.
As a strong communicator committed to leading a team to deliver high quality Graphic Design education, you will have an in depth understanding of Graphic design principles and practice.
Experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage:
- Design Process
- Illustration and Image making
- Typography/information design
- Design for publication (delivery across all platforms)
- Branding (delivery across all platforms)
- Digital Photography and Digital Video
- Knowledge and understanding of broad range of Graphic Design disciplines
- Knowledge and understanding of theory and contextual studies
Candidates must be educated to a minimum of Degree level in Graphic Design with a willingness to complete your HEA level 2 in professional Recognition (if not already held) within 3 years of appointment.
