Part-time EAP / English tutor(s) – fixed term – Jan 2017 to June 2017
Based at St Georges Tower, the International Study Centre (managed by Study Group) prepares international students for entry onto undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Leicester.
We are currently looking to recruit dynamic EAP / English tutors, to start in January 2017. Employed by Study Group, those appointed will be teaching on our Academic English Skills (AES) course to mixed-nationality groups of international foundation year / International Year 1 students. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the on-going development of the courses.
Main duties will be: to deliver student-centred lessons incorporating opportunities for developing independent learning skills; to provide learner support; to evaluate learning through a range of assessment methods, and to keep up to date records as required by ULISC.
Applicants should have a significant experience of teaching international students in a higher education setting. A CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL qualification is essential. An MA TESOL and/or DELTA or equivalent is desirable though alternative applicants will also be considered. Good IT and organisational skills are required. It is anticipated that teaching commitment will be between 15 and 20 contact hours a week. The number of hours each term may vary.
