The University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to work on a project examining the impact of physical inactivity and ageing on adipose tissue function in humans. This opportunity is linked to a project being conducted in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) in Toulouse and funded by BBSRC. The successful applicant will be based on campus at the University but will also travel to Toulouse for several weeks at various times during the project.
In addition to undertaking analysis of adipose tissue samples before and after long term bed rest, the successful candidate will support ongoing studies in young and older people. They will also establish and undertake new studies either in humans or cell-based models (as appropriate).
A PhD in a relevant subject is essential along with a strong track record in physiology, biology/biochemistry or immunology.
This is a full time, fixed term position for up to 24 months.
