Training Coordinator

ahs (Accommodation and Hospitality Services) provides a variety of accommodation, hospitality, bar, restaurant and security services to students, staff and external customers at the University of Bath.As part of developing our services we are now seeking to recruit a Training Co-ordinator to join our growing team.

Our Investors in People Silver award recognises our commitment to continuous improvement and positive team working, including enhancing staff engagement and staff development. As part of our HR team embedded within ahs, the Training Co-ordinator supports and co-ordinates training and development activities within ahs with a remit to increase skills, competency and knowledge. These training activities span induction, on-the-job training within our operations, technical statutory training such as Food Hygiene and various Health & Safety topics. It also spans classroom based development programmes in soft skills and 1:1 coaching conversations regarding personal development.

The role involves proactively and independently working with managers/colleagues across the department to ensure that their tailored learning plans identify opportunities for developing new skills. You will therefore need confidence and enthusiasm to work with team members from numerous areas and outlets, and have the ability to develop excellent relationships with various stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for the planning and rollout of our annual training schedule for all operational staff, in line with the department training matrix which maps essential training against each core role. You will ensure that training records are maintained and can be evidenced for compliance purposes. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a catering operation with knowledge on customer care and of kitchen practices in relation to Food Hygiene. You must be a confident and skilled facilitator with experience of delivering training to varied audiences including people with different learning styles.

Please note this role is offered on a 30 hours per week basis (Monday to Thursday).
