The Metamaterial Research Centre (MRC) at the University of Birmingham has postdoctoral position available for a highly motivated candidate with strong theoretical background in topological photonics and optical spin-orbit interaction in metamaterials.
The successful applicant will carry out research on topological photonics. The research topics include photonic topological semimetals, photonic topological insulators, optical metamaterials that exhibit strong spin-orbit coupling of light, and design of novel optical devices based on topological metamaterials.
A candidate is expected to hold a doctorate degree in Physics or Engineering. The candidate is expected to have strong theoretical background in the following areas: topological photonics, metamaterials. A strong publication record is highly preferred.
Starting salary £28,982 a year, in a range up to £37,768 a year, with potential progression to £40,082 a year.
