Engineering and Environment ICZ Maker Spacer Manager
University of Salford - School of Computing, Science and Engineering
|Placed on:||16th December 2016|
|Closes:||22nd January 2017|
Our University Mission aims to harness the skills, imagination, creativity, innovation and enthusiasm of our staff and students to change people and communities and deliver lasting economic and social benefit. We will achieve this through our approach to teaching excellence, creative pedagogies, real world translational research and knowledge exchange. These are approaches enhanced through the partnerships we have with large and small enterprises across the public, private and charitable sectors.
To support our single strategic aim of Industrial Collaboration Zones (ICZ’s) the creation of a pan-discipline Maker Space is being established. Phase 1 of the refurbishment work for the £16m Maker Space is underway with construction due to start in January 2017 but several key pieces of equipment are already within the University ready to integrate into our teaching, research and enterprise work.
The team for the Maker Space is currently being established as a core central University resource to help deliver exciting co-created curriculum with exceptional industrial partners across all programmes as well as supporting our existing research and enterprise programmes. The Manager will play a key role in developing and integrating the Maker Space across all University degree programmes by actively co-creating projects, live briefs, and curriculum support with academics and our industrial partners as well as integrating with the Maker Community in the region.
