Media Centre Technician (Technical)

The Media Centre at the University of Essex prides itself in supporting the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies (with specific support to the Film Studies and Journalism courses). We are looking for a Media Centre Technician (Technical) to join the current team utilising their strong audio/visual and IT knowledge and experience to support academic courses as well as managing the technical operation of two TV studios and a radio studio.

The successful Technical candidate will have in-depth knowledge of IT hardware and software used in multimedia and networked digital editing suites. They will have a strong technical, practical and theoretical knowledge of the capabilities of digital/analogue audio and video production hardware and software. They will have a sound knowledge of up-to-date trends and practices within the media production market. They will also have excellent written and oral communications skills, enjoy working with a variety of clients and have a strong commitment to customer service.
