Financial Accounts Assistant (Endowments)

22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

An exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen within the Finance and Planning Department at the University of Gloucestershire for a motivated and capable individual with strong financial administration skills to add value in a rapidly evolving environment.

The post is located within the University’s Financial Accounts Team, which has responsibility for the administration of the University’s banking transactions, statutory accounts, treasury management, endowment funds, subsidiary companies, taxes, and purchase card scheme.

You will be a key member of the team, supporting the Principal Accountant, taking responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and producing reports for the University endowment funds, administration of the University’s purchase card scheme, and assisting with HMRC returns, working with the team to deliver a high quality service.

Good IT skills, including Excel and Word, and financial administration experience are essential to ensure that ledgers are accurately maintained to provide information for decision making. Account reconciliation experience and accounting qualifications would also be desirable. 

You must have excellent organisational skills, be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines. You will be proactive in delivering a high quality service with a commitment to continuous improvement and enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent communication skills are also required as you will need to liaise with various stakeholders throughout the University.
