|Salary:||£37,256 to £40,483|
|Contract Type:||Contract / Temporary|
|Placed on:||11th January 2017|
|Closes:||30th January 2017|
At Kingston University we take great pride in the difference we make to the lives of our students and the wider community we serve. We are constantly striving to provide excellent student and staff services and to improve the teaching and learning experience.
As part of our vision for the future, we are developing proposals to make significant improvements to our campus sites over the next 10 years. We are now looking for a talented and experienced stakeholder engagement adviser to help us succeed in this ambition. Reporting to the stakeholder engagement manager and working within the Estates and Marketing and Communications Directorates, your main responsibilities will be to advise on, develop, plan and supervise a range of strategic and integrated stakeholder engagement plans that enable internal and external stakeholders to understand the University’s vision to develop its estate.
You will also advise and assist in developing a programme of internal and external events, such as public exhibitions, open meetings and campus road shows.
You will need to be a team player, who enjoys the challenge of negotiating with colleagues and other stakeholders, advising them on the most suitable and cost-effective communications methods to reach their target audiences. You will plan, deliver and evaluate print and online activities across the full range of communications channels. As well as sharing your own professional experience and learning with colleagues, there will be plenty of opportunity to further develop your own knowledge, skills and expertise.
You will be the sort of person who thrives on variety, is able to multi-task and is not daunted by shifting deadlines. It goes without saying that you will have excellent writing and presentation skills – able to write for a range of different audiences and channels – and be a strong all-round communicator. To be successful in this role you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with experience of working within a local political environment and have a good knowledge of property/town planning issues.
You will be an effective influencer, with an ability to communicate confidently and diplomatically with people inside and outside the University. You will be based at Cooper House, close to the University’s Penrhyn Road campus, and the Kingston Hill campus. Your work will also require you to visit the other University campuses regularly. Given the nature of the role there will also be a requirement for occasional out-of-hours working.
The Marketing and Communications Department is a strategic service department of the University, delivering a range of activities including web and digital, market insight, media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, student recruitment events, activities and campaigns, international student marketing and recruitment, widening participation and design and print. The service has recently been reshaped and consolidated to deliver against University and Faculty key objectives through co-creation of strategies and plans.
