Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7.30am or 8am each day.
30 weeks of the year (University term-time plus an additional 2 weeks)
You will assist in the process of setting out and preparing for undergraduate practical classes. This will involve ensuring that the laboratories are ready for use with the items needed by the students. You will also assist in the cleaning up after practical classes including ensuring safe disposal of contaminated glassware and plastics. You will also assist in other areas of Technical Services if necessary and appropriate.
You will be provided with full training on appointment however, you will have previous experience of working independently and flexibly as well as knowledge of various types of laboratory equipment and experiments. You will be practical and have an understanding of good laboratory practice as well as knowledge of health and safety good practice in a lab environment, including an appreciation of COSHH regulations. Knowledge of the wide range of consumable equipment used in lab classes would be desirable.
