Research Associate

Cardiff University - College of Biomedical and Life Sciences

Centre for Trials Research

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this UKCRC-registered trials unit as a Research Associate, contributing to the delivery of the Research Design and Conduct Service (RDCS) and also to the portfolio of research in the Centre for Trials Research (CTR) with a focus on patient reported outcome measures (PROMs).
The CTR is a vibrant and expanding trials unit with a diverse portfolio of research across a range of themes including Cancer, Infections, Population Health and Mind, Brain & Neuroscience.  The RDCS was established in 2010 by Health and Care Research Wales and is funded by Welsh Government to support NHS and social care professionals to develop research projects to benefit the public and NHS users within Wales.
The successful applicant will join the RDCS team to provide research consultancy to staff in the NHS and social care. The post would suit an experienced researcher, with a background in the development and delivery of research who would be able to offer consultancy across a range of aspects of research design. We are particularly interested in recruiting someone to the post with expertise in the area of patient reported outcome measures as this is a target methodological area for development within the Centre. The role is configured to be approximately 60/40 split between consultancy and research but this can be varied with agreement over time.
For informal queries, please contact Dr Sue Channon, Deputy Director of RDCS
This post is a full time (35 hours per week), open ended and is available immediately.

Please be aware that Cardiff University reserves the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.

Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity. Our inclusive environment welcomes applications from talented people from diverse backgrounds.
