In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework Exercise (REF), the Department of Law had the highest percentage of world leading 4* publications of any UK institution, having submitted almost 100% of our staff. We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional Research Manager to take lead administrative responsibility for the Department’s research, public engagement, and knowledge exchange and impact (KEI) activities.

The postholder will work closely with academic staff in the Department and colleagues in the LSE Research Division to deliver KEI events and projects, and develop effective mechanisms for recording and interpreting KEI data and metrics. They will assist the Director of Research with preparations for the next REF exercise and also provide support to academics applying for research funding.

You will have excellent communication skills, and experience of collecting, analysing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data. Experience of providing a high level of service with a demanding and varied workload, and establishing and maintaining good working relationships with a range of colleagues will be key.

Knowledge of the requirements of the REF, including the current Knowledge Exchange and Impact agenda, is advantageous.
