Lecturer in Computer Science (Research)

Grade: £32,958 to £38,183 per annum together with USS benefits

To deliver its top 20 ambition Swansea University is seeking to appoint up to four Lecturers with excellence in research in the Department of Computer Science within the College of Science.

The Department would welcome applications from early career academics with a developing portfolio of research interests that have the potential to play a significant role in the future development of the discipline. Exceptional applicants with a more developed academic portfolio may be appointed to a higher grade.

Each post also includes teaching and supervision in Computer Science both at undergraduate and postgraduate level in addition to sharing organisational and academic management responsibilities. Furthermore, each post requires high standards in teaching and student learning, and a commitment to enhancing the overall student experience.

The research focus can be in any area of Computer Science. It can enhance existing areas, or bring in new areas that resonate with the Department. Currently the Department’s expertise is in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphics and Visualization, and Theoretical Computer Science. In recent years, we have developed research in Data Science, Security, High Performance Computing, and History of Computing.
