You will be employed as a Research Development Officer in the Research and Innovation Services Department.
You will facilitate and develop research undertaken across the College of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences, providing advice, guidance and specialist support, and leading projects within this area. You will join a well-established Research Development team with joint responsibility for managing the portfolio of work across relevant academic schools.
You will also support joint working with the University’s Colleges of Biomedical and Life Sciences and Physical Sciences and Engineering and fulfil a cross-cutting role in supporting the work of the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation & Engagement.
You will be pro-active in supporting research funding applications and related activities in academic schools which already have international reputations for research excellence and are major generators of external research income to the University.
The focus of your activities will be strongly influenced by Cardiff University’s The Way Forward strategy, the Research, Innovation & Engagement sub-strategy and the College Delivery Plan. Your work will directly support the achievement of the University’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for research. Operationally, the Research Development team’s Delivery Plan will determine your priorities.
This position is fixed term (35 hours per week) and is available from 15 May 2017 - 9 Feb 2018 to cover maternity leave.
